Why are we here?

That’s the age-old question, isn’t it? Why are we here? What is our life mission? What is our soul’s purpose? In a few simple words, it’s to learn and progress. It’s to advance your soul to new levels. You are a soul in a human body. You are made primarily of energy and when you discard this human body your consciousness and soul will live on and more than likely incarnate again to master more lessons. I realize some people don’t believe in reincarnation and that is ok. I personally don’t believe that you only live one life and that’s what you’re judged on because let’s face it, we have all committed some grave blunder in this one life. According to reincarnation, every time you incarnate you choose the situation, the lessons, and even the people you want to incarnate with. This is all to learn to overcome hurdles with love and compassion. Certain events are fated to happen – your response to them will determine whether you advance or not. Certain people will come into your life – some will be lessons and some will be blessings.

In my spiritual search, reincarnation is what resonated most with me because it made sense. I don’t believe that this life is random.  There is an order to every event that happens in your personal life, in the life of the people around you, and in the world at large. If you are paying attention right now, you have probably realized that the same events that are being played out in the US are also happening around the world in other countries in varying degrees. There’s obviously and huge lesson the world needs to learn and is about to learn right now. I can also assure you that you personally, or us globally, will not advance or learn anything unless we respond with love and compassion. It’s time to shed the fear energy and express the love energy that we all have inside of us. You may not be able to control events around you but you can control how you respond to them. Let’s remember to respond in love and help each other, always.soul-purposeIf you would like to learn more about your soul’s purpose I would like to recommend “Discovering Your Soul Mission” by Linda Brady and Evan St. Lifer. This book has many challenging exercises to help you understand yourself, your life, and what it all means. Another book that has really helped me is “Astrology for the Soul” by Jan Spiller. In this book, you will learn which lessons you came here to master. Interestingly enough, I first read this book in my 20’s and then re-read it in my 40’s and I noticed that I had learned a lot of the lessons I was supposed to! If you have an open mind and an open heart you can learn much about yourself, your soul, the world around you, and the purpose of it all. My life is much more bearable and has much more meaning because I’m looking at it from a soul’s perspective instead of a human perspective. I wish for you the same enlightenment.

Colors of Life

Look at the world around you, do you see all the colors? Do you see the different shapes and sizes? Can you imagine how visually boring our world would be if everything was monochrome? Or black and white?

The animal kingdom has all kinds of animals from the smallest insect to giants like whales. The live in all kinds of environments, some have fur, some have scales. Some you can pet and have in a house, and some are too wild or dangerous to be kept indoors. Each one of them is fascinating, living their life according to nature’s laws, and adding richness and texture to our world.

Same goes for the plant kingdom. Most plants have some green on them but that’s where the similarities end. Our world is populated with giant trees and prickly cactus. Flowers bloom in all sorts of glorious colors and designs. Verdant grass carpets mountains and russet leaves soften the forest floors. All of it is magnificent and stirs the soul.

Our physical world is diverse. Diversity is interesting, it is beautiful, unique, it sparks curiosity, it engages our senses, it makes you want to learn more, it makes life stimulating and thought-provoking…

Why would you think humanity would be any different?

It’s Always About You

Make no mistake, it’s all about you. Everything is up to you. You are responsible for your life, don’t place the blame on anyone else. You are responsible for your actions and reactions – no one can make you act a certain way unless you give them the power to. You are responsible for your successes and failures, not some outside force. You are more powerful than you think. You are the center of your universe. You can create the life you want if you focus on yourself and your dreams. This power is already inside of you, all you need to do is harness it and make it work for you. But do you know how to?

all-about-You-its-all-about-you-25000375-314-314Here’s what I’ve learned. First, I talk to Jekeh and the Universe daily. I thank them, I ask them to protect the people I love, and I also ask for things I want or need. The most important thing to adopt in your life is an attitude of gratitude, be thankful for what you have instead of focusing on what you’re lacking. The reason is simple – if you are thankful you will feel peace, gratitude, and contentment. If you are focusing on what you don’t have, you will feel envy, depression, and even anger.

Second, express your love daily to your family, friends, and pets with words, touch, and positive thoughts. When this love exudes out of you, it touches everything around you and you will get it back tenfold. Never waste an opportunity to perform an act of kindness – something as small as a smile can change someone’s day. Having love in your heart brings you not just more love but more serenity. Life is much easier when you feel loved and supported, and sharing that love makes the world a better place.

Third, ask for what you want and need. Be reasonable and be specific. Obviously saying “I want to be rich” is not reasonable or specific. The Universe can interpret that in a myriad of ways – you want to be rich in what? Rainbows? Cats? So, make sure you are very specific in what you’re asking and keep in mind that you will have to take some action to help your dreams come true. Make a list or a vision board, anything that will clarify your request. Your dream may not come true for a long time but if you are persistent and work at it, it will happen. I’ve found that anytime I ask for something I need, the response is immediate and right on time. If I’m working towards a dream it takes longer, for example it took me 12 years to find my soulmate/twin flame and 5 years to make my dream of quitting my day job and support myself creatively happen. Stay positive, don’t get discouraged, and trust.

what-if-you-realized-how-powerful-you-really-are1  You are the co-creator of your life. Your guide and angels are there to help you. Your path is God’s path – he is co-creating it with you because you are a part of him. Nothing is separate or finite. Abundance is infinite. The only restrictions are in your mind and in your insecurities. Trust, believe, and tap into your power to create the abundant life you want and deserve. It’s all up to you.

It’s a Cleansing

If you notice what’s happening around us you will realize that old issues are coming up, old wounds are being re-opened, and old conflicts are seeking a resolution…why is this? It’s a cleansing – we need to resolve past issues in order to move forward and we have no time to waste. I’m not going to sugarcoat it, it’s going to get ugly and it’s going to get violent. A lot of emotions are going to be stirred up and you’re going to have to decide what side you want to stand on. Will you stand with fear or will you stand with love?

You will need to search your heart deeply and figure out who you truly are. This is not the time to follow the crowd or be silent. Stand up for what you believe, stand up for who you are. You have a voice – use it. The world needs you right now, it needs every single one of us to tell it what kind of society we want to be.

The choices are an inclusive society vs an exclusive society. I hope you realize that we already live in an exclusive society where there is a class system and those in the upper class have and reap all the benefits. If we rise to the occasion – and I’m pretty sure we will – we will move into an inclusive society where everyone is on a more equal ground, and where every life has value. That’s why we are going to have this violent upheaval. The people who are benefitting from our current status quo are not going to relinquish their hold easily and they’re going to try to do everything possible to keep us oppressed. I encourage you to seek the truth and act accordingly. The truth is being exposed and secrets are being revealed yet some people still choose to believe the lie.

It’s going to be crazy for a while and things are going to change fast. The best thing you can do is strap on, enjoy the ride, go with the flow, and claim your true self!

~ Again, please be very, very careful if you are out and about in the next few weeks ~ ♥

Intuition, Spirituality

Innie or Outtie?

Our society is fixed on looks, on seeing the outer shell of a person – what they wear, what color their skin is, how their hair is styled, what kind of car they drive, what shoes they are wearing, etc. But what does that actually tell you about the person you’re looking at? Absolutely nothing.

You can look at a person that is well put together – nice dress shirt, slacks, tie, polished shoes- and think that they have their life together and are moderately successful, when in reality they are surviving on credit cards and ramen noodles. You can also look at a middle-aged guy wearing loafers and old shorts, with a scruffy beard and hat, driving an old jeep and think he has nothing, when actually he’s a multi-millionaire and owns half the town. When I owned a restaurant years ago I met the millionaire that we were renting our restaurant space from, and he was the middle-aged guy. You would have never guessed his financial status based on his looks, but I knew a couple of things when I met him – he was kind, he was humble, and he was exceedingly intelligent. I didn’t deduce this from his looks, I construed it from looking into his eyes, having a conversation, and feeling his energy.

For most people, when you meet someone new you know almost immediately whether you like them enough to pursue a friendship or not. Why is that? You are feeling their energy. It’s intangible, you can’t see it, but it’s also very real and absolutely trustworthy. Once you’re talking to them, note how your body reacts. Are you leaning in towards them or do you find yourself stepping back or turning away? That’s also very telling. They may be saying the right words but are they resonating with you? If not, your body will let you know and you should listen!!

The world around us is changing and it’s time to look at what’s around you with new eyes – with your inner eye. Feel the energy around you, pay attention to how your body reacts, listen to the words or images that come to you – they will help you, keep you safe, and help you discern truth from deception. With all that is going on in our society right now, it is crucial that we discard the packaging and look at what’s actually in the box. Don’t let the outside appearance fool you, it might cost you more than you think. Be an innie, not an outtie.

~ On a personal note, if you are going to be out protesting this weekend, please be extremely careful and listen to your intuition – blessings ~

evolve, solidarity

Last Hoorah

As we become more united and stand together in solidarity, you will see an escalation of hate crimes and incidents in the next few years. The forces that seek to divide us are having their last hoorah and are clinging fearfully to their ideals and working hard to recruit more like-minded individuals.

Do not fear, this will not last.

We are heading towards a kinder, more inclusive world, and you will see more and more people stand up against racisms, hate, bigotry, and abuse. The majority is figuring out that we are not separate from each other, but that we are oneone human family. The dividers are the minority – they are the loudest right now but their numbers are few. You can see proof of this every time a tragedy happens – what follows is an overwhelming number of people condemning the incident and united in love.

This escalation will last a few years before we will start seeing a change. During this transition, it is very important that you feed the good energy. Stay grounded in positivity, love, and kindness. Do not give in and feed into the fear, anger, and desperation. The more we keep our thoughts positive and loving, the faster we raise the vibration of the planet and bring about this much needed change and peace.

two_wolvesAs the old Cherokee Legend of the Two Wolves goes:

An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life. “A fight is going on inside me” he said to the boy. “It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil – he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.” He continued, “The other is good – he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you – and inside every other person too.”

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?”

The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”

inner peace

Hate ~ What can you do?

As I’m watching the events unfold in Charlottesville, Virginia I’m having a hard time staying calm and writing this. It’s hard to keep it together when you see a car plow into people for no other reason but hate. I feel sad, angry, disgusted…anything but calm…It’s hard not to lash out when you see things like this happen and let the anger over take you. And this is happening all over the world, not just in the US. We are seeing it in the news more and more often.

No one is born hating. Hate is taught, nurtured, and channeled just like love. Love is also taught, nurtured, and channeled. Love is our natural state. Hate comes from fear and is fueled by fear. Imagine living in a constant state of fear – you would be continually anxious, always looking over your shoulder, and feeling like everything and everyone is out to get you. You would have no peace in your life or in your heart and that would lead to unrest and anger. Then that anger would be channeled into a target and lead to an act of violence.

So how do we counteract hate? With the absence of fear and the presence of love. Love is the only force that can stamp out hate. But how do we put that into context as human beings dealing with strong emotions? First I would say, feel all your emotions. Feel the sadness, feel the anger, feel the pain, let your feelings wash over you, taste them, mull them over, and when you’re ready, let them go.

Then center yourself and let love in. Let love heal you and find your inner peace again. The Dalai Lama said “We will only make the 21st century an era of peace on the basis of inner peace. However, we won’t overcome anger and establish peace of mind just by praying for it. An outbreak of fire will not be quenched by prayer alone, it’s far more important to prevent its breaking out in the first place.” This is why it is crucial to have inner peace not matter what is going on around you. When you’re at peace and in a loving, positive state, that energy exudes out of you and affects others and that’s powerful. Imagine a world where everyone has peace in their heart – that would completely change our planet! Our consciousness – our collective consciousness – is one of the strongest weapon we have to fight against these troubled times. If we change the way we think and feel, we can truly change the world.

Cultivate your peace- do what you love, think positive thoughts, have compassion, surround yourself with those you love and love you back, spend time in nature, read uplifting books, volunteer to help others or animals, be kind, get involved in just causes…the list is endless…find your inner peace and spread the love.
